Suburbs we cover here: Garsfontein, Silver Lakes, Menlyn, Lynnwood
Garage doors, sectional door repairs and complex gate work in Faerie Glen, covering the freestanding houses on the koppie slopes and the townhouse complexes below them.
What we see in Faerie Glen
Faerie Glen is eighties and nineties housing, much of it on stands that slope toward the koppie. Sloped driveways mean the door and the floor are rarely square to each other, and the sectional doors common in this suburb show it as a gap at one end or a seal that only touches on one side. It is fixable, but only if it is measured across the floor.
The complexes here bring their own rules. Body corporates specify colour and door type, and work has to be booked through a managing agent and done inside estate hours. We ask for the specification up front, quote to it, and do not fit anything that a trustee is going to ask a resident to take out again.
Getting on site
Complex access in Faerie Glen means booking with the managing agent, clearing technicians at the gate and working inside permitted hours. On the freestanding houses the constraint is the driveway gradient — on the steeper stands we plan how the door reaches the garage before the fitting day.
Motors, backup and load shedding
Sectional doors on sloped Faerie Glen driveways want an operator with soft start and stop and correctly set limits, because a heavy door driven hard into an uneven floor damages the bottom seal and the panel. Battery backup is worth having on complexes where the same power failure closes both the estate gate and your garage.
Repairs on any make
Bent bottom panels from vehicle contact, worn rollers, cables off the drum, failed limit switches and seals worn through on one side by an uneven floor are the standard Faerie Glen calls. Sectional panels are replaceable individually, so a single damaged panel does not mean a new door.
What it costs
Price depends on the width, the gauge and whether the opening needs work before a door can go in. We itemise the door, the motor and the installation separately for every Faerie Glen quote, so you can see what each part costs and decide what you actually want.
How soon we can be there
We run standby cover across Pretoria, so a stuck or forced door in Faerie Glen is attended the same day or the same night. Planned work is scheduled to suit you, and manufacture on a made-to-measure door is normally a few working days.
Getting a quote
Give us the opening size and, if it is a replacement, tell us what has been going wrong. Free survey in Faerie Glen, itemised quote, and an honest answer about whether the existing door is worth keeping.

Common questions
Roller doors in Faerie Glen
Yes. Send us the specification with your enquiry and we quote to it, including the finish. We would rather match the scheme up front than have a trustee ask you to remove a door that was fitted correctly but in the wrong colour.
No. Sectional panels are replaceable individually, and on most doors we can swap the damaged panel and rebalance the door for a fraction of a replacement. We only recommend a new door when the tracks and frame have also gone.
Usually a sloped or settled floor, which is common on the Faerie Glen slopes. The door is square and the floor is not. It is corrected by re-levelling the tracks and fitting a profiled bottom seal that takes up the difference.
